Frequently asked questions

What acupuncture treatments do you offer?

Brighton Acupuncture offers acupuncture treatments for fertility, pregnancy, anxiety, stress, insomnia, back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, headaches, migraines, IBS, digestion, endometriosis, women’s health, general wellbeing and more. Get in touch to ask how acupuncture could help if you have any questions.

How do I know which acupuncture treatment is right for me?

Start with the concern that feels most important, such as fertility, pain, anxiety, insomnia or pregnancy. If several things are connected, Tam will look at the whole picture rather than treating symptoms in isolation.

Do you offer acupuncture treatments in Brighton and Hove?

Yes. Appointments are available at the Brighton acupuncture clinic in central Brighton and the Hove acupuncture clinic on Church Road.

What happens during an acupuncture treatment?

Your appointment starts with a consultation about your symptoms, health history, lifestyle and goals. Tam then chooses acupuncture points based on your individual needs.

Does acupuncture hurt?

Most people find acupuncture gentler than they expected. The needles are very fine. You may feel a tiny prick, warmth, heaviness, tingling or a dull sensation, but once the needles are in you can’t usually feel them and most people find it very relaxing.

How many acupuncture sessions will I need?

This depends on what you are coming for, how long it has been going on and how your body responds. Some people come for a short course, while others choose ongoing support.

Can acupuncture be used alongside conventional medical treatment?

Many people use acupuncture alongside conventional care. Please tell Tam about any diagnoses, medication, fertility treatment, pregnancy care or medical investigations, so treatment can be planned safely.

How much does acupuncture cost?

Prices depend on the type of appointment you book. You can check the current prices on the booking page or contact Tam if you are unsure which appointment is right for you.
